Hello Everyone,
I have an old laptop with these specs:
- CPU:Intel Core 2 Duo T5670 @1.80GHz
- RAM: 2 GB
- Motherboard: HP F.0A/30D8
- HDD: HL-DT-ST DVDRAM GSA-T20L
I’ve installed Lubuntu 18.04.5 and it works well. The only problem is the boot that takes more than 40 second when I turn ON the PC.
Do you have any suggestion to speed up the boot?
Thanks
Replacing the harddrive with an inexpensive solid state drive will do the most to speed up the computer, but you should also prepare to upgrade to a newer laptop in a year or two.

Thanks. Lubuntu doesn’t come with snapd daemon. Do you think that MX Linux could be faster than Lubuntu?

Thanks, I will try with Lubuntu 20.04 and then MX Linux. Thank you!
Have you checked your bios settings for boot options? On mine I have 3 different options: fast boot, thorough and auto along with a couple for delays.
I’ll check, thanks
Its fine as you have HDD
