Honestly this one is one of the top because there’s a wide variety of questions that are genuinely interesting. Compared to a rotating daily question type with rotating predictable responses

I agree to be fair, I mean from what I’ve seen so far everything is genuinely interesting compared to the type of stuff you’d get on the likes of Reddit.

“Sexiest females of Reddit: What is the sexiest sex you’ve ever sexed?” God I hated those questions.

Then you would sort by new and every other question is worded the same way.

    Honestly? Still haven’t found one.

The communities I’ve found are all fine, but I haven’t found any that are a tailor match for me. Every one so far has either been not quite my cup or a ghost town.

I’m mostly sticking to All and interacting with posts I like as I see them, with no real care given to what community they are from. Individual communities don’t have much for me, but all of Lemmy combined holds my interest decently well.

Fair enough, my thoughts are that as Lemmy gains more users and gets more features more and more content will be suited to more and more people.

      Hopefully that made sense

Tbh I want places that don’t agree with me practically 100% of the time. I feel like there’s not much room for discourse here… be it about politics, religion, opinions about art/games, whatever

Maybe I’m just in the wrong communities, or the wrong instance. Because it is there, but it’s a lot harder to find than on Reddit

There’s definitely an interesting demographic around here. I’ve been dog piled by tankies who don’t like my opinion, but it’s to be expected. I don’t mind it. As long as my comments aren’t deleted, I can take the downvotes.

As long as my comments aren’t deleted

This is the main reason I stay here. Shit like the r/DarkSouls mods shadowbanning everyone who criticizes DS2…

I didn’t realize how corrupt and controlled everything on Reddit was until I looked at my shadow-deleted comments on Reveddit

Same! I realized everything I had posted to the Canada sub had been shadow deleted. What does it say about a narrative if you have to delete all and any opossition. It means it’s not actual popular or common.

Hi there! Looks like you linked to a Lemmy community using a URL instead of its name, which doesn’t work well for people on different instances. Try fixing it like this: !pixaraimemes@lemmy.ml

Unsuprisingly !piracy@lemmy.dbzer0.com and !selfhosted@lemmy.world made the transition quite well.

The german communities didn’t transition quite as well as i hoped, but the like of !deutschland@feddit.de and !dach@feddit.de still see enough engagement to serve their purpose.

So i guess those are my favorites so far. Simply because they already function quite well.

Beyond that i am more of a Star Wars/Lotr guy, but i am warming up more and more towards Star Trek (liked it before aswell, but didn’t dive into it too much). Especially since i enjoy some of the current series (Strange New Worlds and Lower Decks) quite a bit.

The german communities didn’t transition quite as well

You’ve gotta be kidding? I feel like Germans are the 2nd biggest demographic after Yanks on Lemmy. They seem to be everywhere flaunting their sinister .deusernames. I try to speak to them in Rammstein lyrics only to be ignored.

They’re as friendly as a concrete wall and as funny as a dead kitten.

You stopped that quote a few words too early and left out the “as i hoped” part. I guess i simply had unrealistic high hopes that we would collectively move here, but the mods of /r/de opened back up at some point and the majority is still there.

But you are of course right that overall there are quite a few of us here. I guess expanding into a new space that is leaning towards communism is something we have experience with.
