It’s usually a bugger to get out and you need to involve a finger.
I don’t recall that happening with any other foodstuff.
Yes of course, nothing else has the corn husk, but other foods that get stuck in my teeth.

- various seeds
- some leafy greens
- dried fruit
- soft breaf
Teeth, yes. All of those. This is more when the husk gets stuck down at the root of your tongue, down behind your molars.

Roast chicken for me, especially if it’s really stringy and dry.

The worst is when there’s a tougher bit in like, a dry sausage (salami, chorizo, etc.), or bacon, that gets stuck between your teeth and is impossible to get out because the little fucker is just so slippery you can’t get a grip on it…

That’s a common issue! The stuck popcorn piece is often referred to as an ‘ear corn’ in Dutch.
I am intimately familiar with that feeling. Because it’s not just popcorn that causes it. In apples, the seed chambers are lined with a hard membrane that is extremely similar in size and texture to a popcorn hull. If you bite too close to the core, or if you eat apple slices from uncored apples, youwill get one stuck in your throat.
I gwt shards of the kernel shell embedding themselves between my teeth or between the teeth and gums. It’s torture but feels soooooo gooood when you get it out.
Now imagine an ulcer. Imagine the popsherds getting lodged in that.

I use those dental hook/flosser things. The thin plastic hook on the handle is made for this exact situation.
Isn’t that getting food lodged at your tonsils. We like to think that tonsils are a mile away at the back of the throat away from the mouth but it’s all very close to each other.

No, this at the side/rear of your mouth, right under the base of your tongue.
Like, in the lower molar, where it meets the gums? Or suctioned to the base of your tongue? Cause one of those is common, and it ain’t the suction one

Then the follow up of a sore tongue tip for the next three days from doing battle with said kernel.
The similar material type as popcorn seeds but isnt the seed but the casing around apple seeds. If I dance with the devil and bite too deep into the core of an apple ive gotten that seed casing stuck on my tongue or between my teeth the same way the shell of a popcorn seed will.
